“If you cannot explain what you are doing as a process, that you do not know very well what you’re doing” – W. Edwards Deming (1900-1993)
What are business systems?
Company systems are documented procedures setting out how your organization functions. They’ve been procedures, frequently combining actions taken by people and some form of automatic application, organised in a way in order to meet a given pair of business objectives. Such systems can generally occur without the company founder / owner’s direct action, over and over again, as efficiently as you can.
Samples of processes may include just how your staff should respond to the phone, how they take and give communications; the process for increasing, approving, putting and orders that are receiving the method for generating, checking and giving out customer invoices, as well as receiving payments and following up on outstanding bills etc.
