Room Heating and Cooling

Indoor cooling and heating system in a building is a combined system of heating, ventilation and air conditioning usually abbreviated as a HVAC system. The cooling and heating system for buildings is made in a standard way where it comprises all the systems including heating, ventilation and air conditioning. The HVAC system is installed in buildings to ensure that there is thermal comfort in a building as well as the air quality is appropriate. Residential, commercial and industrial buildings can make use of HVAC system for heating and cooling purposes in apartments, hotels, single-family homes, and hospitals. Ventilation in the HVAC system involves the replacement of indoor air with the outdoor air enhancing the air quality of the room. Cooling and removal of odors, smoke, dust, heat, airborne bacteria and other gases that may accumulate in a room are the major purposes of ventilation in a building.

Installation of air conditioning system ensures that there are cooling and appropriate humidity in a building. The most appropriate buildings to install air conditioning systems is where windows are sealed to prevent disruption of the working of system. This is because open windows prevent proper working of the air conditioning system hence indoor air quality is compromised. In the heat exchange section, fresh air from outside gets in through a vent creating a positive air pressure. The vent also enhances removal of heat from the building using various processes including radiation, conduction and convention.

High temperature heating systems referred to as furnaces are common for heating and the fuel is usually combustion of a fuel or by electricity. The furnace is used to supply heat into a living space through an intermediary distribution system in a building. The furnace can also function as a boiler which provides hot water that can be used for washing and bathing. The furnace works in a way such that there is a passive air circulation system. In the passive air circulation system, cooler air sinks since it is heavy while heated air moves up into the room. Recently, modern furnaces have been developed which depend on a fan that pulls cool air , reheats it and releases it into the environment for cooling the building.

There are various benefits of using the HVAC system in buildings. The HVAC system are energy efficient where they require minimal energy to run hence saving on electricity bills. Comfort is key in buildings hence HVAC systems are essential in maintaining an appropriate temperature. Clean air is also enhanced by removing odors, harmful gases and also harmful air-borne microorganisms. HVAC repair is also essential to ensure that it runs efficiently at all times to ensure proper air quality and temperature in a building. HVAC repair should be done by professionals who are specialized and have the right tools and equipment for repair and maintenance.
